Lessons from Laird

Postby Tex » Fri Jan 21, 2011 9:47 am

A good friend of mine was in HI last week, ended up on the same beach as Laird who was teaching his daughter how to surf.

Laird was paddling the board in the back and staying prone while his daughter popped up and rode the front of the board. My friend observed that Laird would just ever so slightly adjust arm position, or stance to help his daughter maximize the wave.

She is pretty damn lucky to have the best surfer in the world as her coach.

My boys are already jonezing to get back out to the waves this spring!
