yeah, i hope she's ok too. ya never want that to happen.

i'm not one to freak out about the landlord, but a buddy and i were about to paddle out by ourselves at a north coast beach on sunday afternoon. as we approached the water, the first wave of a set broke and in the back of the wave i saw a big shadow that appeared to be swimming perpendicular to the wave and not on it or with it as seals or dolphins do. it was the one and only time i've ever been spooked enough to not paddle out in the PNW. could have been a sea lion. could have been a dolphin. could have been a shark. and this just makes me wonder even more...

we opted for plan b.

Surfing a spot just north of LC alone. Feeling the oneness. Waves were thick and fast. One had a notasealion with a large dorsal fin. I turned and paddled. Same wave caught up to me and I took it in,
Anyone look closely at the board?
It looks like a sealion bit it. I say this because I have been very aggressively menaced by those asshats I KNOW what thier mouth looks like, its quite like a dogs actually. That board looks like a big dog grabbed it and stripped the glass off by pulling.
All ya gotta do is ask for it.

Saw something thrashing something well offshore yesterday at the Epicenter...
Couldn't really tell what it was, but it was big enough to be visible at long distance...
Lotsa birds swooping in and possibly a blood patch...
Could have been my overactive imagination...
And it didn't seem to bother the 4 out surfing dribbly waves...
Or the 2 yakkers heading back from the rock...
Or the helmeted SUP'er surfing knee highs in the cove...
I opted to head north...
But never found anything worth surfing.
