Give Up the Old Lady?

Postby McDing » Fri Apr 02, 2010 12:28 am

Simple Question:------------Would you give up the "Old Lady" if she said you couldn't surf ? By "couldn't surf" I'm meaning A Saturday, a few hours, every weekend, every day or a trip to Baja. I mean surfing in general or for any period of time. Like that session you may have had a couple of nights ago. I mean a great session isn't sex, but you probabl;y aren't gettin' any o' that anyway. This is ERA, so any of what Surf Guide used to call the "Distaff" surfers have a reverse opinion, I'm all ears. If you've got some PDX biker A$$0le who cant swim and doesn't want you to either; Would you kick his lazy a$$ out if he laid down the law and told you to stay away from the beach, the waves and the dudes with the "bushy blonde hairdoos?

I would consider it the beginning of the end, so yes, it's likely I would.

On a day like today I'd do whatever the eff she wants. Sounds like a question for valley folk.

I often don't surf in the interest of marital peace...
But then I rarely say no to anything re: wife requests...
But if I do say no, there is no arguing...
Not because I'm right...
But because I won't budge...
I have no idea if I answered the question.

Been through it... My advice:
Take care of your responsibilities
Never budge on your surf time
She'll learn to accept that your mistress(ocean) isn't going away
And return the favor(if possible) when she wants to do stuff

I have never in my 35 years of life been told by anyone that I can't go surfing.
Not my parents, not my girl friends, or x-wife.
Sorry can't help with this one.

Really need to consult TwinFinAnnie. She's the only sensible woman on this whole forum.

Has anyone watched The Marriage Ref? How is time spent surfing any different from the guys that spend 6 hours playing golf? Well except surfing is way sexier, but either way it is time away from the spouse. My guy does not surf but he has 2 boats and likes to go fishing and crabbing. I just get irritated that I don't get invited along when even his middle schooler cousins do. But we both own kayaks and would take them out when we lived close to each other. I think what it boils down to for me is that he can have his hobbies and I can have mine as long as I am still #1 because if I don't think I am then it is not pretty.

Yep as long as a I think I am #1 it is good. You should have heard it when he asked for fishing gear for Valentine's Day, especially since I had bought him a nice new knife already and he had the guts to tell me that was not what he wanted, so I returned the knife and did not buy him anything else. I have lived up here for a year now and I told him that if he has time to go fishing he has time to come and see me which he never has.

Why don't you threaten to date one of those Pakis you're locking up?
