Starting to get me sea legs back.
Surfed super fun head high waves the last two days with two bro's out and that's it.
Got my new 6'6" Dwart.
First real surf since my hip replacement.
Only been 5 1/2 months and it hurts like hell but when you have a brand new surfboard and the waves are this good Advil is your friend.

What a great morning to be an Oregonian. No wind, head high peelers, mostly sunny with just enough haze to keep the glare down. Steep and quick but forgiving waves made for some impressive surfing, got burned once and I think I even heard someone yell kook at me. I stayed in till my arms gave out, all is good in the world again. June has been an improvement, let it rain...

Had a few fun moments out there today... Found a place that did not look like brown poo water like most of the surfline has looked the last few days down here...

last 2 days have been epic. warm, sunny, offshore, overhead. lots of cover ups today. saw some of my homies get a few barrels. loving every minute. last night, 3 hours alone with just my brother... today, woke up at 7am, in the water at 7:05, pajamas to bikini to wetsuit, no bothering with the inbetween change into normal clothes. 3 + hours again, sand bars lined up like magic and all the classics were out today, old timers, kids, everyone inbetween. my roommate ruling it on the karmic voyager... then later today, another local came to borrow boards from the back yard, i didn't know which ones, (it looks like a surf shop, we will probly have to get a check-out list), and later, driving through nye beach, i saw the karmic voyager on someone's car... got a big shaka and a smile, the board still beaded up with ocean water, 2 sessions... i heard good reviews at the coffee shop later when i dipped down into nye to fill up the mason jar with java...a great compliment for my first shape.
and... the water is warmmmmmm. yes. beach life is awesome.

Rare weekend surf for me...
In the water about 8:30...
Had enough after 5 hours...
Wanted more but I was roasted...
Super fun overall...
Super shallow and sucking up...
Into small nearly fittable tubes...
Tried to tuck into a couple...
Close but can't claim it...
Big warbly peaks with the left...
Held up nicely by the wind...
Felt like summer...
But with good waves...
Strong rips pulling through the lineup...
Many, many waves...
I'd make my way back outside...
Hope for a little rest...
But there were very few lulls...
It was always turn and go...
Laughed at one guy that just got worked...
Too deep, and too steep...
Only to get my own spin treatment...
On the wave behind it.

Sat. not as good as Thursday but no complaints. Found myself on he rocks in knee deep water a few times after pulling in and not making it out. Good times chasing down little barrels with only a handful of friendly faces in the water.
