Oktober-fistula

At the contest site that is not the Shredfest site.

Great lefts and long rights. Waist to overhead sets of long period trains, glassy or offshore from one hour to the other. Saw a great barrel thrown in amongst the nose rides and glide.

Warm water continues.

How warm?

Been some long period sessions lately. Spending more time crabbing/fishing before the rain comes, probably should be surfing more.

So glassy. Wasn't planning to surf, but when I saw it I had to get out for a quick beat down. Ocean delivered.

Wave quality was high, surfer (meaning me) quality was fairly low. Or, maybe it's time to ride shorter boards not shaped by me?

All that didn't affect the fun level, which was also high.

I keep getting called out for going bootiless. What's wrong with you people? Relish in the warmth.

Rolling out for glassy bombs at dawn. Boys without their booties make me hot, think I'm gonna lose mine today and show some swelling pride!

Surf on Friday was bigger than we would have preffered, but we paddled out, paid our dues, and some were greatly rewarded. :)

More good waves down here. Glassy conditions prevail. Rumors of bigger swell due tomorrow.

Morning pinata session for my daughters second Bday followed by overhead lefts by myself for three hours in the afternoon sun. Caught some juicy ones but shoulda quit while ahead. Greed only leads to hol'downs.

Sat: Good and glassy long period, but only one shifty peak between 50 close friends.

Sun: For some reason there wasn't much of a crowd the first session; 2 waves during slack hi-tide. For the second session I thought I was in a Dairy Queen[tm] cause there was so much whipped frothy frosties; 6 waves on ebb. Afterwards, I enjoyed some sunshine, beautiful scenery, a Lagunitas Imperial Stout[tm] on my lawn chair; many gratifying conversations.

Wendy's owns the Frosty(tm) Prag.... good job on the edge of the Bomb Range, heard you got some beeg ones.

Surfed small and clean S.Beach with nobody out this morning...

Sunday was big with horizon darkening lines indicating huge sets on the way, most heats were surfed outside. Some internet legends were unfortunately exposed as blowhards, when they opted to flinch in the foamies instead of paddling out to deeper water.

NM got some solid waves this weekend and took 4th in the gal's final. They all paddled out to the backline for some big sets, it was still running in the 8' @14secs.... all six finalists including the teenager amongst them. Took some nerve but they did it!

Was glad to have the extra time to paddle out.
