I took the dog and HD Jr. down to the beach for a walk today. The festivities included:

- watching a group of people getting knocked down by a set wave and seeing some guy frantically dog paddling amongst several logs trying not to get sucked out to sea. Luckily, when the suck-out subsided, it deposited him on the beach so his friends could salvage his soggy @ss.

- watching two 10 yrs old or so girls coax their toddler sister onto a stump in the surf. I ran down and warned them as a surge surrounded the stump with a couple feet of water and carried the crying little one to her mother who was too busy stringing a kite to notice that her children were in peril.

- watching some parents allow several young boys to swim in the surf when a wave picked them up and threw one of them over a log rolling in the surf. Fortunately, no injuries.

- watching a couple walking their dog get knocked down and seeing the dog swimming near the owners while still on leash.

And later I did something that resembled surfing at Punta Chi Chi Norte.

just curious: about how many people were out at chi chis? Saw the parade of cars post tide and it looked like 2/3 ov the valley kooks must have been out.

Super fun on the pushing tide this morning. Peaks, bowls, lefts and rights.

I can only guess where you were SG...
Contemplated heading to the NoCo too...
But settled in at Brohampton...
Watched HD get worked for about 20...
Trying to paddle out to mini cloudbreak...
He opted for Bro-Central shortly thereafter...
Waves looked good at times but were whack...
All drop and no wall to speak of...
I spent the better part of an hour mastering...
The art of falling off your board for no reason...
Before I settled down on the quad and made a few waves...
Felt good to surf in the sun fo' sho'

I got waves while Sooloo took a vigorous sand-scrub in his most discreet parts due to an oversized wetsuit I gave him..... he looked uncomfortable about the whole thing.....

I paddled a lot today. I caught a wave. I tried to catch two or three. Driving along, I saw a lot of nice running walls of water. Got me excited - and made me wish I was ballsier about surfing unfamiliar territory.
