Definitely will be huge. But, check out the surfline feature on Todos Santos by Greg Long:

http://www.surfline.com/surf-news/todos-santos---taking-the-drop-at-killers----bajas-big-wave-proving-ground_49269/

especially the slide where he talks about folks paddling no matter how big it got. I have no idea if the wave at nelscott is unpaddleable at certain sizes but these would be the fellows to test that theory. I hope the ocean greets the competitors with the conditions that they need to shred. Should be phenomenal to watch.

On dia de los muertos, less than a week after a near-by shark attack, and in the conditions they are forecasting... yikes.

Tex here, reporting from Agate where the surf is still HUGE.

This morning at the reef was a trip. It took Gary Linden 45 minutes to find a break in the action and get out to the reef. Other teams got out there a bit faster but it was intense watching the ski teams dodging logs, massive whitewater and closeout sets.

As the tide went out, it cleaned up. I guess some were calling it 40 ft. HI but most were calling it 20ft. HI style.

Obviously some big names....I got a chance to meet Peter Mel...he was really down to earth and cool. It was fun to watch Carlos Buerhle (SP?) get ready to power out to the line up.

As the morning went on, it got sunnier and the sets were cleaning up really nice.

Fun event for sure, good vibe with the pro's and locals.

not that i really give a fuhhk but it's pretty much par for the course of the whole nelscott flea circus to have such weak coverage and to not even post results on the "official website" over 24 hours after it's all done. the site said it would be posted by today afternoon. well, it's dark outside.
glad i just went to work then surfed after, like any other day.
keep your nelscott.

I will admit I was that guy driving the ski with Gary on it... Did that beating we took realy last 45 mins? THAT was only the second time I have punched out the beach break there... They lost like 6 skis that day and mine was not one of them... I was never so happy to be back on the beach with Gary safe...

RXXL...me and the guy from the NYT actually timed you with a stopwatch. Had no idea that was you.
You deserve A for effort and perserverance in getting outside in that insanity. Well done in getting Gary out there. That whitewater shorepound was insane

Big props RXXL, that must have taken a toll on your nerves being out there all day and being responsible for GL...
