Morning chuckles yesterday morning in the epicenter. Lots of heads bobbing in the rip. A few close shaves but not a frown to be seen...

If I had gone against my doctor's orders...
Not to surf until next year...
It was...
I mead, it would have been...
Really fun on the north end...
Of a certain north coast cove today...
Even tho I would have been surfing...
A 10' 6" 50/50 Becker noserider...
That I would have had no business riding...
In chest to headhigh drops...
Backside for the most part...
But then why would I go against a doctor's orders?
Even tho my shoulder feels much better.

looked ok when I suited up, couple of nuggets as I walked out, first two were pretty good then it shut off, a-hole locs all went in and left me alone in crap surf to envision a shark eating my head as I paddled back out...

Went for an early AM walk at Shorties to see Mr Chompers had paid a visit and had spat out a headless seal towards the north end. Paddled out into shifty rippy peaks, waited for the tide to drop and menu to expand and then things got good.

For a short window, it was pure magic. My last wave was my best, that always helps.

I was under the understanding that headless pinnipeds are the result of researchers analyzing the cause of death...beyond the obvious trauma of a shark attack.

I've seen many headless sea lions and initially marvelled at the great whites appetite for brain.

Thank God for that. It is good to know, if that is true, we are all safe out in the water
