Just got back, will share some stories soon. Sailing across the Atlantic in winter is heavy. Cheers all, voyage of a lifetime. Oh, and I did find surf in my new favorite place on earth, The Azores.

Not exactly--- Think of it this way, 72 feet, 15 wide, in the vast wilderness of the ocean. You're moving. And then you come across a bunch of garbage. You pick up what you can with three pool nets in the space of twenty minutes. Then you move on. That's the big stuff, and we had countless instances of coming across it. The science part was dragging a trawl every 50-100 miles over a 3000 mile transect. The trawl is designed to pick up plastic fragments. In each of the 37 trawls, we found plastic fragments. Everytime.

Sounds like a much better use for a trawl then factory fishing away every critter on the bottom of the sea.

I feel obliged to point out that fish can be caught without the use of a factory trawler and would be better for local economies and the ocean if small crew operations did all the catching.

I don't think the purpose was to just look at it.
