Super duper surfy surf...
In the sun and the wind today...
Overhead warbling a-frames...
Into chest to waist high lefts...
Relative emptiness...
In a stiff semi-offshore...
At Oregon's favorite...
Chilly chill beers apres surf...
And no cell service...
Made the day complete.

Huh. Almost had to initiate a rescue on behalf of a dude a little further north. I was suiting up when a women approached asking if I could see her husband in the water. Nope, nobody out. She said she lost track of him about 30 minutes ago. First time surfing after a 20 year hiatus. She was in her 50s. I asked her for a few more details and then looked up the hill to see a dude walking down the hill soaking wet. Turns out he couldn't shake the rip, was paddling against it, got tired and had to give up and bail for the rocks, then bushwhack up to the road. He was smiling but also looked pretty humbled. Think he learned his lesson. Probs wont surf again.

Otherwise the surf was fun. It was a little windy out there, but I caught a few decent waves and also got a few cleanups on the head. May be our last real swell until august, so I wanted a taste.

Had to do it again, jus cus ^ No double rainbow barrels. But this time instead of taking ice cream cones to the head. I enjoyed the sweet taste of Ollaberry swirls! Summer sweetness. Now it’s time to enjoy the valley and cascades again. Maybe get some sleep. And some work done.

XOXO, QUAD _-_-_-_-_

Aquatic misconduct: finning out with a 1/4" ply skimboard in 20kt offshores. Does that count? It was fun until I started to feel like shark bait in murky water.

Tuesday was super good times. Best surf of the month by far rampy fast shoulder high lefts some really good sections couple of really good almost moments, sunny, bright green water but really cold with the WNW blowing through but at least it was offshore.

Surprisingly fun. Waist high sometimes mushy, sometimes lined up. Me and co-surfer couldn't figure out where everyone was. Couldn't have cared less. Heading back out right now.

The Coast Guard was dispatched via a call from the Yachats Fire Department on a report of a 45-year-old man who had fallen off his board in heavy surf.

A 47-foot motor lifeboat was sent from Yaquina Bay, as well a shore crew and a helicopter.

The man was hoisted to safety aboard the helicopter. He was flown to a parking lot and treated for exposure.

wonder who that was? Must've been a passer-through, i can't think of any "regulars" who match the description.

Fun but a little packed and chippy at the local break today. Got some fun rides and then got hit twice - last time was t-bone put a nice gash in the nose of my board. I know the gal who hit me and it wasn't her fault, just an accident that sometimes happen in a crowded lineup. Wrapped it up early after that and went home to dry out the wound and get it ready to patch up. Tomorrow's another day.

I was wondering the same thing. Before the info was out on his age I got a call from a friend making sure it wasn't me :). We went down the list of the could be's and couldn't think of anyone. Not a place I would like to be in trouble that's for sure.

I was going to post a surf report about my session today but the stoke from the blind surfer lesson in PC far outshines any awesomeness that was generated elsewhere. Right on guys.
