It took a fair amount of searching around but I eventually managed to find a spot working half way decently yesterday, had it solo for a couple of hours until two guys came and sat within three feet of me, one on each side. Empty beach break with shifty peaks all over and three of us jockeying for the same mediocre peak, don't make no sense. I moved, they followed, I left.

Tortured by the forecast of NE winds...
Went and saw for myself...
Glad I did...
Clear skies, stiff breeze and sunshine...
Surfed a famously fickle north end peak...
That hasn't worked (for me) in months...
A handful of others out on squirrelly creek breaks...
Pretty blowy and sideshore on the main beach...
But the north end was glassy and offshore...
And I was the only one on it...
Admittedly it was soft...
But there were head high peaks coming thru...
And fun bowly sections...
With an easy dry hair channel paddle back out...
Got joined after about a dozen rights...
And it kinda fizzled with the flood tide...
Got a wave in and headed south (on foot)...
Surfed the very windy south end...
Breaking way outside and held up hard...
But it broke all the way in to the shallows...
Easy (but lengthy) paddles back outside...
After another hour plus of these...
Headed in...
There were about 8 out on the north end by now...
And more trudging towards it...
Still only one peak though...
Thought about going back out there, but...
It was time to bug out and get back to work.

Hey Doc, sounds like we had the same day only reverse, must have passed each other going opposite ways :-). It was a fun day.

*Sigh*

Since I'm one of the only ones who still posts actual detailed reports anymore...
I'm thinking I'll quit too...
Too many people that I work with read my blog now...
So I can't post on there anymore...
This was my last bastion...
But I know some of you surf...
And you can devote a 20 line post...
About politics, philosophy & other bs...
Which is fine...
But you can't vaguely describe your recent surf...
Beyond 1 or 2 sentence comments?
So that when I'm stuck in a valley...
I can go "Dammit!"...
Then drive 75 miles to swell that's over?
C'mon!

Absolute dogshit conditions today but I had a new board that was begging to be christened.
Onshore slop. Maybe thigh to waist. Weak as hell but sh*t me it was fun. Love it when a board does exactly what you envisioned. Stoked.

Today was a 2 but I'm sure if you stuffed $200 of fuel in your rig you probably thought it was a 7.... but no it was a 2, as was yesterday, not the 5,6. or 7 you called it then either. When it does go to 7 please sit on the beach and tell us how many barrels you got, include the mini-shacks too, it's all good.

Yeah, checked about 10 spots and it looked like itty bitty crap everywhere so EV and I went on a pleasant stroll for a couple of hours, came back had some lunch, checked a few more spots. Then it came down to this one random haystack that neither of us had surfed before. Upon arrival the leeward side was clean, head high and consistent. I hurt my knee a little on Thursday so I lb'd. It turned out to be really punchy right or left into double up inside sections; all the more fun racing the school bus. Total score for 3.5 hour session was a 10.1

Divided by 2=5.05, still inflated..........
