I'd agree that the skill level has gone up here. It was evident Saturday morning with an OH, glassy, swell.

Today was sunny, a little junky and HH. Might have to take a day off to put some salmon in the freezer.

Effing cold and effing windy already and it's only 7 am.
Welcome to Oregon. The water is frigid. There are some waves.

good times with da boys on punchy, shifty peaks...surf, sun, and suck'em up in the lot. Summer day for sure, so of course I gotta cut it short to go work in the valley, kook.

oh hell yes.... classic day, 80 degrees in the sand, sunny and glassy in the water. sun baked bikini sesh on my favorite beach after about 3 hours of OH set waves, good sand bars, good stoke in the line up, lots of lined up rights and lefts, a few covers here and there... some good hold downs, wipe outs, a$$ beatings... no wind all day. loving the homemade board. dreaming of what my next shape will be.

i think autumn is here...

I could echo TT's report. Hot and sunny, solid, overhead, clean, and long walled up rides. And I had it solo for an hour :D until everyone else came out.

Had some interesting wipeouts over the last few days:

1) I was about to take a nice right and ready to call off the shoulder hopper, but my leash, wrapped around both ankles had other ideas. I Had a nice time trying to swim for the surface after that hold down.
2) Went for what I thought might be tubey little left, got pitched and somehow my leash ended up around my neck. While, I was getting my spanking, the leash tightened again making the swim a little sketchy.
3) Pussed out on a solid left at a hefty shorebreaking beach, tried to ditch my board and ended up landing on the fins in the trough and had another spanking.
4) After a horrendous meal at Oscars, I almost had a full-on Oscar in my wetsuit.

In between that I had a few satisfactory and somewhat successful rides, here and there, enjoyed a session with Tippy and exchanged countless bottom-burp jokes with EV, Prag and Nasty.

Also, ran into a couple of young men, who wanted some ideas on how to get through the shore break at above mentioned beachy. They said, "We don't get waves like this, where we're from."

I said, "Oh, where are you from?"

"Portland." They replied.

"No sh*t" I said.

Then mid-conversation, one of the yelled, "Go bro!" And they both ran down the sand bank, jumped into the water, right next to each other, head first into an oncoming set, only to end up a tangled up in each other's leashes while they took their punishment. Yep, Portland doesn't break like that.

Spnet- - - how long is your leash? You must be very flexible for your leg rope to wrap around your neck.

Tippy - - - I miss your face.

Smithers - - - - those were some shifty bastard peaks huh. Great to see you. I went out and got another 2 hours of those beautiful A frames after you left. Took a lot of waves on the head yesterday. All worth it though.

You sure you weren't boogie boardin Spent?
That I can see how it might get wrapped around your neck.
Still trying to picture how a 6 ft comp leash tied to ones ankle ends up choking you out asphyxiation style if your not a yoga flex master. I'm sure you got some good one's in between wipe outs. Glad you didn't get hurt.
