Got my arse out of bed at 4am for a not quite dawnie this morning and was paid off with glassy, overhead peaks with three others. it was nice going in the opposite direction to the oncoming hoards, knowing i'd had my fill.

Today was a good day. Quality and quantity all in one session. This day can't be beat.

I'll second EV. It was by far the best summer session ever. To many details to list so I'll leave it at that.

I surfed clean but small waves on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Leaving the coast on Sunday was kind of like a dagger in the heart as the swell jacked up and the waves looked great from my car!

Head high peaks...
Not too windy...
Some racy walls...
Pretty much empty...
Lotsa peeps on the beach...
With wetsuits around the waist...
Missing perfectly good waves.

Surfing the last two months on the north coast has been marginal at best ....
Not trying to bust any bubbles IMHO its been a D- surf wise... :(

Well if the Sunday dawnie was a D-, I can't wait to score a C day. Even you coasties can't be everywhere all the time... Sometimes the over-hyped vals get lucky... sometimes.

A lot longer than that down my way..... please f.off till the bars get better, I'll let you all know when it's good again. Go somewhere else... follow Spent or something.

Not trying to start a pissing contest(I'd win), but if you compare the quality of waves and conditions of this year locally to any of the last 7 it's the worst by far! One corner of a bar is trying to work and it's easily ruined by rips, tides and the ever present north-west winds that have plagued the coast all year long. I wish Erzats would do his job and give us an understandable take on wtf is going on and what the fall might hold for us.

We all know your hood has been suffering Gaz. I was beginning to suspect you were lying but the Kooky Vals Association sent some spies down for a recent reccy and they confirmed the surf has been cancelled for the time being. I miss it.

That should be the motto for north west surfing......
