I'll admit i'm no big wave hero. Luckily there's sheltered spots for pansies like me to ride. Still HH on the sets. I would ride bigger waves if I didn't have to paddle through 300 yds of them to get out.

Cracked my windshield with a board but other than that stellar morning. Saw lots of faces I haven't seen in months, some friendly others not so much. Got crowded quickly but the inconsistency of the sets kept everyone spread out enough to keep me happy till my arms gave out. A lil' bit overhead no wind.

around chest high, cleanish, gray, some jellies, some salmon jumping, high tide backwash chilled out eventually and surfed a protected spot yesterday on 2 fishes, got to try out ceedog's newest creation and I have to say he did a great job, I didn't want to give it back. might try to kidnap it and bring it to costa rica this winter.

A lot of driving up and down the coast Friday and Saturday... found some fun protected lefts Friday morning, big lumpy, peaky beach break that was surprisingly easy to paddle out through Friday night, and ended the trip Saturday afternoon on some big, glassy, slightly mushy faces.

A lot of driving down the coast led to the promised land of glassy waves and head-high peaks. Came back last night to the fog and wind just cool enough to ease the heat of my sunburned face.

Saturday surfed a spot on the wrong tide but had a blast putting on a show for the tourists. "hey, look at that guy getting beaten by the ocean..." Later on scored perfect longboarding waves at a soon-to-be contest spot. Head to a little bigger offshore zippers. Still have sand in my eyes from the lower tide end of the session.

Yesterday bigger close outs. Watched a rare gem work and work over a few people. Then surfed onshore junk in the evening to bring everything back to reality. Good strategic strike.

Yip, all sign's are indicating that this fall is going to match up with this summer as one of the Shittyest in history.
I sure as hell hope I'm wrong.

Some fun waves last few days....if you don't mind getting your a$$ handed to you. Crowds have not been an issue. Took my 14 footer way out for some large swell rides the other day and realized just how much the board does not handle - point it down the face try to trim and hold on. Went out again today on a smaller board. Not enough size and power outside so ventured inside for some unpredictable heavy shore break. Long violent hold downs, but some nice walls for a second or two.

Nothing like work, family obligations and a dentist's appointment...
To ruin a perfectly good day of sunshine & a long period 6' swell...
So stoked.

how about strep throat from surfing mediocre waves in dirty water at lighthouse last weekend?

sheltered spot but with clean up sets. Damn. Got some really long lefts amongst the SUPers. Really long lulls. Fun times in the water.
