started running, out of nowhere. ran the Shamrock 5k, and some other paltry runs. I get a 9 1/2 minute mile, which means I get passed a lot, but I pass a lot of people. middle of the pack is ok with me. Trail running here on the coast and running on the beach is a lot of fun. I am thinking of signing up for a 5k biathlon at the state games, but I read that some mofo averaged 5:44/mi and scored 9 out of 10 on the shooting part... I need to do some speed work I guess...

Speed is pretty easy to get on the coast.

When I was young and stupid (stupider anyway) I did a triathalon with about a 500 person field...
I was a swimmer from garde school through college and was about the 20th out of the water on the swim leg...
I was at about 100th after the bike...
And was getting past by old people on the run...
I did hold off an old lady at the finish line tho...
I pounded a couple beers afterwards...
Insta drunk...
Never again tho...
The triathalon part, not the insta drunk part.

I generally like to use the little known BRS system for staying in lifesaving shape. I Bang as many hot chicks as I can. This only works if you cross train with Running to the booze shack a few times a day. Save a life here and there then try to Bang the life you Saved.

Repeat.

Cheers!

Mitch.

Actually this is a fairly common lifeguard procedure...
Little known only to the non-beach lifeguard folk...
The whole "I saved your life" thing...
Is an excellent icebreaker...
I'm still pissed at the state of California...
For stationing me at Blacks...
In a portable tower...
You'd think a nude beach would be a plus...
For a 17 year old lifeguard...
Except it was all homos...
Not that there's anything wrong with that...
Although I did better at San Elijo SP...

Ha Doc, I had two days my first year a camel's point in south laguna, the gay epicenter of the O.C. I'm still trying to get over some of the stuff I saw there... Not that there was anything wroung with that...

Stuff I am not sure I will do anymore

Postby Tex » Wed Jun 10, 2009 8:48 am

One of my surf bro's just blew out his achilles tendon from a hoops game downtown. He will be out of the water until at least Feb.

He says he is quitting hoops now because he doesnt want to get an injury that will keep him out of the water.

Snowboarding and Skateboarding are two activities that are perilously close to getting crossed off my list. I would be insanely pissed if I got a serious injury from some activity that I didnt really care all that much about in the first place.

Running and cycling are still on the list.

Sounds like, you've already surrendered. Put on some slippers and a smoking jacket, give me your skateboard and I'll burn it to keep you warm in your defeat.

You can have my inline skates for the same reasons.

No, I'll take your inlines to save you some dignity. Although I just had a beautiful image of the Silver-Haired majestic Gaz cruising on his blades from Tierra del Mar into the epicenter of Cape Kiwanda, dressed in a wild African costume. Not unlike this...
