The climb starts at about 700 feet in altitude and raises another 3700 feet.
From parking lot to summit is 4 miles. For the down portion .. even though I shouldn't - I do a lot of running. It can be hard on the knees, but I keep the legs bent, never stiff. This way I'm using a new set of muscles for control and stability. If I feel like I'm being too rough I slow down and walk fast.

Heres a picture, climb starts on the right slope and ends near the point in the middle of the pic

Griz

I don't know about your budget...
But we used to always rock these in SD...
It was my grandmas...
But you could get it up on 2 wheels...
And they are very stable...
So after many beers...
Rarely would you tip over.

yeahhhh!

you won't even believe this, but i just found one of those on the side of the road. it's a project, but it's gonna be sweet. it had an electric motor too, but i ditched it to get back to my roots.

it's a dream come true.
just driving down the road, and there she was.
musta fell out on the way to the dump and the owners just abandoned her there. the cruelty of some people. so, i took her in. hope to nurse her back to health. and one day... maybe one day...

Ha, all this exersizen

I haven't exersized in over two years.

That is, unless you count smokin and chewin and drinken exersizen.

I'm real big.

Since surgery, I can barely walk and I can barely breathe.

If someone pushed me, and I fell, I'd curl up into a ball.

Like Usual.

just as the stairs are the natural enemy of the the elderly, i highly recommend maintaining a safe distance from all potential excerizen equipment and or those who may try to lure you into physical activity.

remain alert at the watering hole friendo.

...don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.

I've been swimming with the local team for the last couple of weeks. This was today's workout:

200 swim
200 scull/kick

8 x 150 [1-3 descend free @ 2:15, 4-6 descend: 1 length fly/back/breast x2 @ 2:30]

3 x 300 free @ 4:00 descend
3 x 200 IM @ 3:00 descend
5 x 100 stroke @ 1:45 [#5 all out]

100 choice

6 x 50 w/bands

100 choice

6 x 150 @ 2:15 w/paddles

12 x 25 @ :45 w/chutes build

25 from the blocks with chute

125 choice

25 from blocks w/o chute

200 warm-down

Yards: 5,800

It's less yards than yesterday b/c of the strength work at the end. Swimming with a chute was not so fun. It feels good to be working on getting back in shape.

It's kind of funny, I tried to wash my car the other day, and I had to stop halfway through because I was out of breathe

I did buy one of those Billy Banks Tae Bo aerobics DVD's however. It's aerobics that looks like self defense. They used to sell them on late night infomertials. I've been trying to do it but I have all these injuries lately, and chronicly I guess, lol.

I must be a weakling, LOL.

it would seem that i have a chronic weakness as well....mostly the dog.

and hey, not to worry. your not alone in your state of battered-douchebaggery. it's looking like elbow and knee surgery for me this winter. sometimes the meager crowd in the peanut gallery of life boos ya off the stage.

meridian flexibility & strength training....

"The Genius of Flexibility" by Bob Cooley

Anyone have any experience with this? Own the book?

Would it be beneficial for someone (like myself) that already practices power vinyasa yoga? (strength, flexibility, breathing focus )
