Solid HH today with little wind. Clean-up-sets kept breaking further and further out and well over head, to say the least. The outgoing tide made for easier take-offs but that silly yellow thing in the sky disappeared too early.

Instead of some vague "Might have been good until the HT flood or may have seen Gaz." Surfline's Sean Collins proposes the following, but I think we can come up with a better scale.

1 = FLAT: Unsurfable or flat conditions. No surf.
2 = VERY POOR: Due to lack of surf, very poor wave shape for surfing, bad surf due to other conditions like wind, tides, or very stormy surf.
3 = POOR: Poor surf with some (30%) FAIR waves to ride.
4 = POOR to FAIR: Generally poor surf many (50%) FAIR waves to ride.
5 = FAIR: Very average surf with most (70%) waves rideable.
6 = FAIR to GOOD: Fair surf with some (30%) GOOD waves.
7 = GOOD: Generally fair surf with many (50%) GOOD waves.
8 = VERY GOOD: Generally good surf with most (70%) GOOD waves.
9 = GOOD to EPIC: Very good surf with many (50%) EPIC waves.
10 = EPIC: Incredible surf with most (70%) waves being EPIC to ride and generally some of the best surf all year.

A "7" the other day. Sunny warm solid lines. 3+ HRS in, lost count.

Monday 6

Tuesday 8

Starting to get the hang of the new board (went down 3 1/2' in length).

Starting to "get it" and love it a bit.

odd, it went from 7 to 2 in about fifteen minutes around here, right when I left work.

Honestly - Monday was a serious workout - getting out, but well worth it. And then Tuesday was just waves. About as good as I've seen it all year, and by the time I was too tired to go anymore and sitting on land watching folks - it only got better (early afternoon).

November is gold so far, only to be destroyed by this coming weekend I would guess.

Gaz surfed some thigh to waist high rights and lefts today...
The waves were so so but his hair was magnificent.

It was beautiful here too this morning. Glassy everywhere, spent the whole morning on the water and not in it, though. Around 1pm, the clouds rolled in and the wind started howling.

Twas a fun session the surf seemed to pulse a little all day on and off, on and off, timed it about right for fun just prior to being blown off the beach around 4:12p.m.

that warble and that elevated of a shot can mean only a handful of places. I think I know where that is and I used to surf there all the time.
