Yes, but they're very limited and specific.

* Boats and float toys under 10 feet in length

They should have just a general county style tax or permit for those of you who dont live near the breaks you want to surf.
And also for shortboarders, kayakers, and well, everyone.

Also applies to prone paddleboards and logs that some people fish from. Life jackets required outside of the "surf zone", too. The later federal law being brought to you by Oregon SUPers congregating in the gorge. Awesome.

I know some folks are doing distance paddles and fishing from boards, both longboard style and paddleboard proper. Anyone get busted for not wearing a PFD? I got popped for not having on on my prone board; the ticket ain't cheap.....
