Can't even imagine. I grew up there. My mom would drop me off at the cliffs, and the current would take me down to the pier in about three hours, just in time for lunch. I'd pull the two bucks out of my pocket if it was still there, dripping seawater, and get 4 tacos and a coke at the jack-in-the -box, then parade up beach blvd like I was a real surfer, plastic fantastic tucked under my arm, beaver-tail flapping in the wind. The shops were absolutely the best, sand on the floor, smelling like coconut and marijuana, completely ignoring me.
