Medical Advice from the OSP

OK. Cut my head open on Friday. Four stitches, pretty straight line, seems to be healing nicely. Getting stitches out on Weds. Hoping to surf tomorrow... Bad idea?

Bad idea. Imagine what happens when your board hits you hard in the exact same spot....

Not worried about hitting the same spot. I'll take that risk. Thinking more about the risk of infection, soaking them etc... but it will be 4 days. I'm thinking it will be fine. I've surfed with open wounds plenty of times... maybe not near Tillamook.

I would not, but that's just because I don't like poo in cuts. Plus Staph, ..

Melt some Sexwax over the cut and that will seal it, make sure you use the cold water type o' wax for best results.

Doctor says, "Go surfing and come and see me if something goes wrong."

I think I will.

Good luck. I heard open wounds attract bears.

Hey that was a gnarly fall, you were literally spewing blood. I'm glad you are ok and nothing to serious.
