I caught two waves today. That's twice as many as yesterday.

A couple years ago the then girlfreind and I went to a newbie break south of CB. IT was snowing and raining. In the parking lot we met a couple probably in their late 30's just coming back up from the water. The guy gave me a couple tips on a sweet rip to get past the crud and the whole time the woman whom looked like Fergie from the Black Eyes Peas but with blonder hair was doing little more than glaring at us. I guess we ruined her day, though we must have been the only other people out anywhere for miles.
After a couple hours of feeling the storm cut through the untaped seams on my wetsuit (the water was warm, but jesus the air was cold) we decided to go back to our campfire. We came back up to the lot just as a group of kids in a tiny beat up Honda CRX with a few kayaks strapped to the roof were making haste out of there. My Tacoma had Kook written all over it in wax.
I pulled out the .44 I had under the seat and began firing several shots in their direction, but they escaped and I assume no one was hurt. OK that last part didn't happen. I thought he whole thing was funny, my GF was fuming. I never figured out if it was the hippy chick or those little rag-a-muffins in the CRX that did it, but it made the experience memorable.. as if getting halfway to hypothermia hadn't already.

I guess the moral of the story is never go surfing with a handgun. Who knows what my little lady would have done.

Riding my surfboard the last few weeks has been quite pleasurable.

Me neither, I was laughing. But she does have more balls than a lot of guys I know and I mean that metaphorically.

Lack of surf has turned me to drinking bottom shelf scotch by the half gallon. I'm talking stuff that makes Cutty Sark look like Blue Label.

Man it was awful today...
I still paddled out though...
Because there was this...
Shifty, bumpy, disorganized right...
That kept rolling through...
So I went out to take a look...
Yep it was shifty, bumpy & disorganized...
Big enough to make me utter profanities
When I got caught inside...
Otherwise all 6 waves pretty much sucked...
Then I went to another break...
It was worse...
All frothy and swirly and closed out...
So I paddled out there...
So I could compare crappiness levels...
They were approximately equally crappy...
But for different reasons...
Anyway, now I am tired.

I know I talk a lot of shite, but we (not as in 'I' ) really did surf here today and it did not all together suck. Nice break in the foul momentum actually.

Yea, the wind blew 7lbs of smashed a-hole for half the week and most of the daylight...but....We sucked in a few remorseful hours and called it good. Not a bad day for a n'orwstr in soco.
The service here sucks.
