Diamonds in the glass or something like that. Gorillas in the mist? Jazzy nuggets? Didn't look it, but it was fun this morning.

A day of leisure. Today I witnessed my first midwave model shoot. Swimsuit was okay...if that was what they were going for. Fukken californy.

I was impressed by the camera crew sneaking balls out sets between sets.
The service here sucks.

surfed every day this week, last night being the most magazine-esque... big walls, lots of light coming through the backs of waves, clear water, only a few out to sample the goods. nice thick set waves, over head, lots of lip service. yeah!!!

the local shark hasn't been spotted for a few days... just a few sea creatures visible from the top of a surfboard last night.

Took my friends from Texas to SS today sans board.

REALLLLLY regret it....head high peaks with rippable walls. Guys and Gals were killin it out there.

Glad some folks were gettin it!

had a fun session yesterday at a righthand reef on the south central coast that requires no physical exertion to reach. you just pull up n paddle out. super steep, fast, bowly rights. by the time i thought of something to do, i was already done with my waves. like i said, fast bastards.
60% of the time, it works every time.

Passed within a couple feet of two deer on my walk back to the car; other than them, nobody around for zippy little lefts through the boils.

Friday stealth session...
Windy on the open beach...
Opted for north cove...
Peaky, fun lefts...
None of the OH variety tho...
Mostly waist to chest funness...
Looking for a day at church tomorrow...
Hope it's good sermon.

Oh yeah...
Ran some guy over yesterday...
Perfect head high a-frame...
Easy drop, swing...
Set my line...
(no...look back...guess not)..
He dropped with not a glance...
That's fine I figured...
I'm moving fast enough...
I'll just pass him...
But instead of going left...
He opted for straight...
And I couldn't avoid him...
Came up "you ok? Sorry"...
Because y'know the waves...
Weren't worth hassling...
And I didn't want to run him over...
"My fault" he said...
Checked my board...
Nothing major, little rail crack...
Paddled back out...
Wave after wave after wave.

Finally feel like I redeemed myself after about 5 really crappy surf sessions in a row. It was small, but very fun and clean. Surfed til I couldn't move my arms. Had a rough time getting my suit off. Can't wait to get back out now!

Made a date with my tako-mama and slipped out for a supper session of slidin' in the waning dusk light yesterday.
Surfed through the high tide mush to be rewarded with the inside bars shaping up for down the line nose time and
sweet cutbacks. Warmish water temps, no wind, and windows of golden sunshine made for a great way to close out
the week. The rain held off until I had changed into my clothes and headed up the path....a perfect day.

In the water about 10am...
Washing away remains...
Of previous evening revelry...
Mostly smallish LB waves...
On the ebbing tide...
Surfing in the rain was fine...
Putting on damp clothes les so...
Still got in 3+ hours leashless fun...
Once I got my hangover balance...
Saw the SmithGrind wagon...
Headed coastal as I went valley...
For my F-Day prepared dinner.

knee high and glassy nose rides this morning. The sand bars are sorting themselves out after their wintertime obliteration. Good things to come.
