Lower back fusion anyone?

Lower back fusion anyone?

Just wondering if anyone has had a back fusion in the lower back and still surfing? I heard Taylor Knox had L5 and S1 fused when he was 15 years old.

Had a micro-discetomy(sp?) on L4 in my 30's stayed away from fusions as I saw mostly awful results from that surgery, but that was 20 years ago hopefully things have improved....
