The V-man's been tearing it up on his surf mat....but yesterday he informed me that he's 'ready to surf a real board'. :D

So today i gave him the hemorrhoid (one day board) to ride....6'4" moontail twin fin. He/We practiced in the whitewater for a couple hours....standing up by the end of the session. Totally stoked on it! 8) 8) 8)

:D :D

left home after lunch when the heat started, drove into the fog and put my sweatshirt on.
spot "W" was looking nice (i think) but the fog was a little too thick for my tastes.
met ceedog at spot "B" instead which had a couple hundred feet of clearance from the fog.
small, short period, clean, somewhat soft and almost glassy...fun lefts coming through, mushy rights, pretty much no wind at all
stayed on the same sandbar for about 3 hours with maybe 2 or 3 others out
eventually the fog lowered and it almost got too thick to see but by then the higher tide had swamped out most of the waves at the beach which i shall now rename "the fatherless equine"

got plenty of waves and a good deal of paddling in, headed back, excited to rejoin the sun and heat but glad that I made the drive.

Got out in the line up by 6:30 last night...had a blast.

Surfed first and second creek at SS.

Waves were waist high with an occasional shoulder high wave coming through. The later it got the glassier it got. Periods of zero wind were nice.

Waves held up long enough to make a couple of cut backs ususally.

Ended the session with plenty cold beers in the dark.

Wanty were you out there again?

Headed west this morning.

Spent the first while chasing ghosts of myself through the fog. Later, I found myself again. But that is an entirely different topic.

Waist high or a bit better on the sets.

Even found myself smiling at times....

Fortunately I've been surfing more than posting lately. Yesterday was fun watching WC do circles between the lineup and inside, great for the wave count. Today was smaller and more foggy. Funny how much difference a few miles makes, Its sunny and warm on the deck but chilly and dark at the beach.

Looks like ya'll up north are heating up, warm water to come...?

spent the past three days at a river mouth between LC and PC, nobody else out, probably cause the waves sucked asss. Better than 100 degrees though...

Not an Oregon report, sorry...

Surfed my old Welsh faithful today. Howling offshores, opening up waist to shoulder high reelers. Had my highest wave count session in years. Surfed until I nearly puked. Too fun. Twin fin and springsuit... Nice to get a taste of the old life.

Back in Portland on the weekend. Craving a real burritto at this point.

They make good burritos in Portland? I had a really good one in the Soth Bay(MB) this past week. Machaca.
