Lost Board At Nelscott Event

Postby muleman » Fri Nov 05, 2010 3:14 pm

First off, thanks to all those that came out to the event this year. The Director of the Big Wave World Tour, Gary Linden, had loaned his favorite board to Peter Mel. When one of the set waves hit the buoy that the boards were tied up to, the leash on the board broke and the board got away. We never found it. This board means everything to Gary and Peter is devastated that its gone. If anyone finds it, please do the right thing and return it. Gary is the nicest guy and would help anyone out in a similar situation. The board is a 10'Balsa/Agave Linden board. Thanks in advance.

OK now you can start the comments that rip my head off, go ahead...

Chances are it wont be a surfer who finds it. But, in the off chance I see it and can get it in my posession I'll PM you. Probably after I paddle it around the bay a little just to see what a true gun feels like.

WTF?

Dude leaves an open invitation for some good ole bashing and no one steps up? Jeeze this place has gone to hell. RIP Sooloo

Well either call it good and a sacrifice to Neptune for a once in a lifetime conditions with that large of a swell. Or a lesson learned, dont lend your board to Peter Mel? You know those SC guys.....

Amazingly- The board was found in Cannon Beach. Thats a 2 week 60 mile trip. Not sure of the details, but the fact that it was recovered and the returned to Gary is a fantastic thing. Someone did the right thing and that is VERY COOL. Thanks.

What a nice story! Makes me warm and cuddly knowing all beach thieves aren't complete tools
