Reclaiming my kookdom

I "surfed" the whitewater slop and I liked it.

I spend more time walking in the surf than paddling

I only surf about four spots, but I like them

I love this concept. Recapturing your kookdom. It is something we can all revisit, even if we never left it. Unlike your virginity, you can be a kook all over again.

I am siging up for this journey.

I need my leash but would be horrified if I let my board hit anyone.

I surf when I have time, not when the time is right for tide and swell. And I'm always happy to get the chance.

Sometimes I rinse out my wetsuit and sometimes I don't and sometimes I wear a 10-year-old suit that I've never taken care of very well.

I get tired too quick, but it's a good tired.

And then(I assume); As though you had just played a rigorous game of touch football. You take a shower and feel refreshed?

I try to teach all my family and friends to surf, but none of them have ever gone again without me.

Stinkbug is my best stance, followed closely by windmilling arms.

I never learned to measure waves, Hawaiian or otherwise, so I describe the surf's size in broad generalities. Knee-high is a good all-around measure.
