worst summer EVER!!

spent the weekend in oceanside. the weather was glorious, actually surfed an open beach break at 4PM without getting blown out. The swell picked up yesterday as we were packing the little ones for the trip home, but the wind did to, so there's that. Again, parenthood is not good for my surfing, but after the third session I actually found a bit of a groove and the sandbars were kind to me. Water, sun, no wind and an easy walk to our precious oregon coast does wonders for my stoke.

I'm currently working through the last of the 6 stages of OR summer surfing:
- frustration: "jeeez it'd be nice to get some waves"
- anger: "WHAT THE F#!%K is wrong with this place!"
- hope: "bro, did you here there's a south coming"
- drunk: "there's no f-ing south coming"
- drunk hope: "i'm just gonna go anyway, it'll be fun"
- despondent: "why am i doing this to myself?! i should quit my job and go live in a van in baja. she'd be pissed at first, but she'd totally understand ..."
Good thing Fall is close!
