that's a secret spot hump. nobody will even know where that is. in fact, this is probably the only photo of that place. it's never been in any mags and it certainly isn't mentioned online. i guess you'll just have to paddle out to see if anybody is out there since you can't even see it from, say, a parking lot or anything of that nature.

Just trying to bring some life back to this site.

Here's a famous spot a couple hours north of the first place shown above.

Lots of fun in summer when JR is flat although I did have my @ss handed to me there one day by a big big set.

Looks like Abner is having a good time though, if that really is Abner. 8)

Take care.

who, me? nah. i get enough negativity thrown my way as is. no need to beg for more. with that said, i would like to say thanks to the people that are encouraging and supportive. after all of the bullsh!t that has happened, it's nice to know people are out there stoked on the images. and i'm loving hump's recent generosity with imagery. would love to see more. killer stuff.

Here's an old pic of the late and always remembered Ted Goodspeed (R.I.P.) heading into a little pocket at my old home break.
Every so often the bar in the rivermouth would get really well shaped and produce a very fun wave.

Image

Shortly after the bar got good the logging company would take advantage of low winter tides and scrape lots of gravel over to the end of the point. This made it easier to get log booms out of the river.
Usually took a week or two for tides and swells to distribute it down the point and there were often neat little temporary sections to play with.
Don't know if they still do this or even if they can anymore.

Very nice bouyhead, but ya wouldn't catch me on that wave. Living for 12 years at a right point made me a "one note Charlie."
I could hardly go left to save my life......................come to think of it I wasn't all that hot going right either.

This guy went right here though, the Point, Santa Cruz, September, 1976.
