Got to take a client surfing yesterday afternoon. He grew up in HI so still adjusting to surfing in the cold water.
We checked the regular spots and had to decided between CB and SS. Ended up chosing SS- figuring it would be a bit more protected from the W/NW wind. Sound End was taking in some waist to chest high nuggets but lack of any real ground swell made it mushy at best. Still better than conducting client meetings in a box. Now I have to take the client every Wed afternoon. shite.....

Driving past CB on way to Bills realized we probably made the wrong call.

Pretty fun session on the 10'6" log today. Wind was howling pretty good outta the north holding up the lefts nicely. Some pretty solid little a-frames popping up early then they disappeared as the tide changed. Kinda went flat for a bit and was almost gonna bag it when it lit up again. Carne Asada burrito at The Stand was overhead.

Pretty good (albeit small) waves today. Had it all to myself, too. Air 78 degrees. Water about the same. Surfed 35 years on the North coast. Now I'm living 6300 miles across the same ocean. I think it was M.Munoz who said,"Warm is better than cold". I would have to agree. And my advice to you? STAY IN SHAPE! You might be surprised how much fun surfing can be @ 60.

It's fun at 52 too 'cept for all these nagging getting old injuries keeping me out of the water.
Torn MCL on top of a long shredded meniscus being the latest possible funness.
Knee brace and careful for a bit.

Just got back from a north coast spot- super fun. Clean, 3-4', did dawn patrol and got 2.5 hours in before the crowds started filtering in. Drove the coast a bit on the way home. Even the exposed breaks looked fun. Supposed to get big later next week...
