Today was stellar; head high, lined up, clean, uncrowded and warm. All smiles...
Rather have today's conditions with just a few out than Malibu with Marie swell and 100+ doods...hands down. Thank you npac.

Did everyone catch the clip of Laird Hamilton SUPing at Malibu and shooting the Pier all the way from the Point?
I have surfed there several times, that is a long, long, long wave.

Shorties was fun yesterday- mostly in the 2-4' range but some head-high sneakers cleared the line-up a few times. Is it Fall yet?

Truly is the beauty of SS....doesn't take much to sort out the rooks and kooks in the line up.

Things seemed doubtful but finally found a spot working just before 46029 started showing:
6:50 am ESE 1.9 W 4.6@15
enough to make it another week.

Last Friday, we had a once low-key North coast beach break as good as I've ever seen it. And the better it got the less crowded it got until there was only 3 of us in. Perfect A-frames, little barrels if you were lucky, smooth glassy green goodness and lined-up screaming face-high walls. Next morning was a lot smaller and weaker but still very fun.

Not sure why I keep posing on here but oh well...

Yesterday: Looked marginal and I nearly bagged it to go skate but smithgrind convinced me some nice sets were rolling through. Went a bit south of YKW and had a very fun peak mostly to myself. Set up the 5'8" as a twin + trailer and it grovelled really well but still flew through the steep sections. There were some really nice sets coming through despite the lackluster buoy readings.

Been digging these small swells with glassy conditions. There are some great sandbars to be found out there right now. Milk them before they disappear again and enjoy some space before we're all wedged into the protected spots again.

went to SS yesterday. started off small before 8 but it quickly changed. large sets out back head high or more. it was awesome to see how quickly those sets ran everyone out of the lineup.

SS had some great sets early today- actually got covered up pretty good on a head-high left. Maybe 6-10 guys out.

Dominated La Push & Hobuck this past weekend...dominated in the sense that I was the only one stubborn enough to paddle out into utter shite unsurfable waves. Pushed on to Seattle through an utterly flat Strait. Might have SUP'ed it except for the lack of motivation due to camping in Bourbon & Rain the night before. The bars in Seattle were overhead but closing out.
