If it would keep all the Portland kooks/hipsters away from the coast and place them in an environment more suited to their skill level, I'd definitely be in favor.

There was an FB page that was trying to rally for a Wavegarden in Portland- not sure if it's active any more. Agreed with buoyhead, although the implications of hundreds/thousands of people learning to surf in a controlled environment still has potential impact on the lineup. Once all the wave pool surfers fell like they are 'good' enough to charge real waves, guess where they will be?

On the other hand it does look fun.

Good update Squid. I don't use FB so I was out of the loop on any efforts within that social forum.
OSP is the most intelligent community to develop this conceptually. As I said earlier, I am going out to England to check this new park out. If the waves are double the size of the park in Spain, that will completely legitimize the technology from my perspective. For those of you who are interested in a serious dialogue on this matter let me know and we can set something up.

As of November, it looks like the Mt. Tabor option is DOA.
I would never put one there anyway....not enough land to develop around the actual wave pool.

Its in Wales. Might want to see where you are going before you go.

Ha. No worries. I hope you go but if you do PM me for details about REAL welsh surf and for God's sake don't call us English when you're there.

Snowdonia shut down for the winter...too bad. Looks like there were a number of technical difficulties.

I think I am the last one standing here but thought just in case I would throw out the link to Kelly's wave machine.
Literally made me yell out loud after watching him slay this perfect wave. The gauntlet has been thrown down and the King rules still.
