September Surf Report

Hey OSP,

Sunday was an absolute ZOO at Shorties....surprised, not at all. Cars parked all up and down 101 for all major beach pull out spots.

Needles was working in the AM but I had my 11 yr old and didnt want to deal with the rip.

Shorties was small and great for my kids, which was the primary objective. Longboards had the best rides, shortboarders were grovelling- just like me.

Still, saltwater always beats out 100 degrees in the valley.

Chatted with a guy who had a Hammer Longboard from like 97....always nice to see some Hammers in the water. That was the first shaper I ever sold, way back in the Manzanita Surf & Sail days!

Nothing here. With a forecast of small surf and gusty winds I passed given the holiday and crowds. Should be getting out this week, but the fires, smoke, and heat are killing the vibes of what is normally one of my favorite months here.

Agate was fun Friday - little wind, no crowd early and about waist to chest. Didn't get anything else over the weekend though.

Heading out for Wed-Sat OR surf exploration....70 DEGREES ON FRIDAY....sun and surf in October, I will take some.

70 in the valley more like 60's on the coast. Another run of good conditions, but micro surf most of the week.

Looks like the swell should be building on the OR coast....anyone hitting it before it all blows out?
I was supposed to be surfing Wed-Sat but then my kid got suspended....what a kick to the nutz that was.

good kid generally, made some mistakes, he is taking accountability for his actions which apparently is increasingly rare these days. He will learn from it and not repeat the mistakes....hopefully.
