Fall is here....lets keep our fingers crossed for a few days this month of high pressure and long period ground swells.

I see there was already a dusting of snow out on 6 this morning - fer f's sake I hope we don't have another winter like last year...

BUT, got one of my biggest scores south of LC during a snow flurry last December. Surreal.

1st surf of Nov was pretty darn fun. Decent size and snagged some pretty good runners.

Sacrificed getting a new wetsuit for the time being and bought ski passes for the fam thinking it's gonna be another cold and wet one given we're still in a La Nina apparently. Another winter like last might just scare some people away from here....

Got grilled today. Still picking sand out my scalp. Turns out there was a little bedrock on the inside I could of nailed like an idiot too. Got the view though. Conditions were all over the place and there was like a 10' tide. Could barely paddle to stay in place. Surface was all kinds of chunky from the swell seeming to have originated close by and it was impossible to watch one come in from the horizon. Just had to wait to see how far inside you'd get owned after bobbing over each hump. Four times and three hikes back I happened to be in the right spot and made each drop. One paid off.

Started off on a 5',11" quad fish by Eggnogg. After the first hike, went and got my 7'2" Rawson step-up and that ended up being the ticket.

Oh yeah, I have no shame in overgunning. I get flack for it all the time. That first wave, I dropped in grabbing rail and stayed on side slipping until getting owned by a hollow closeout. The strategy was to get a roll in but this one was a drainer. The roll ins were to hard to find with the current and all. One of those days that it looks all time from shore but once you get out, you can't tell what the hell is going on. Will say that 5'11" has a lot of hidden foam and paddles like a mid 6'. Also, my options lightest to heaviest goes 6'2"-5'11"-7'2"-9'6"-9'2"(nose rider:).

Wanted to go out this morning with the 9'6" Brian Bulkley but the period was too short and the channel was randomly closing out. Probably for the better since I have a job interview in an hour and a half. Hoping the size increase and flood focuses a peak into being but not likely for a post-interview stand down session. Suppose to be offshore all day, so got that going.

Haha, pretty good. They were like Whaaaaaa? and I was like chzyeah! and they were like let's just name the whole department after you. "Which corner office you want." they said. So I was like: just put me in the broom closet to save expenses and I'll just not show up sometimes cause I'm riding bitchin swells of the century pretty much every day to cover the costs.
