My step up is a full 6" longer than my so-called performance board. same width, slightly thicker but with more foiled tail. I like it being half a foot longer b/c I really notice the advantage when catching waves and take offs. Its also not too gunny of a shape which is key and keeps it fun in most of the waves I find myself on. Just great for those days you want to hunt down a peak, survive the drop, point and go and paddle back out quickly. I went years without using it, saving it for those really good days but recently I've been using it more and more when it gets overhead. The board turns as hard as I dare in overhead surf also.

Stretch and Murdey... very different shapers doing very different things... ha ha thats my quiver. Different shapes from them both with different intentions. But really impressed with them both.

http://www.murdeysurfboards.com/larold/ This is board I have on order, tweaked to my own OCD of course...

That board looks like it should be a ton of fun. Shaper out of Seattle? Those are a rare breed.

6'3" sounds good. Just placed an order for a plane ticket. Sticking with current quiver and investing in right point waves..... have had my share of OR surf at the moment. :D

I'll take a few Euros over Brocals any day. I spent 10 years living with Arabs and I enjoy rights. I'll take your ticket to Morocco if you don't want it.

My friend that took me on my trip has traveled to Morocco. Arabs or not he said vibe is competitive and known waves like Anchor are very crowded. Although if you pay someone to take you exploring you can score uncrowded waves. He prefers the trip we took. We surfed alone to 12 guys max. Brocals were the most polite and probably the best educate I have seen in a long damn time. Everyone got their turn. My faith in Americans has changed slightly.

Maroc remains high on my list. The passport needs a few more Islamic stamps in it.

I have a lot of places high on my list, but financially they are almost all out of question. Surfing aside Morocco would be interesting, but J Bay would be higher wavewise. Portugal is up there as well.

Scored 3 new spots on this trip. Cant complain. Spent about $300's total and 20K of frequent flier miles on a domestic ticket. Gotta go the dirt bag poor mans route until I figure out how to make and save more $. Lucky to even go anywhere to surf these days.
