Sounds like they're on track to become legit soul surfers, although very impressive that your daughter won her heat. Good to learn at an early age that it's not all about the podium or the gram or marketing gimmicks (Surf Day was on Saturday), but if that's a person's thing-- if that competitive edge drives them to reach their highest levels of surfing, more power to them. The ocean is a mirror that reflects sky and spirit alike; gotta be true to what you see in those waves. Who knows? Maybe the kid's just getting started!

ML- You must have been stoked to see your daughter out there competing! My kids have not expressed interest in surfing at that level. Stoked for you and the fam!
