Howdy All.

Sorry for the delayed report. It went flat on us pretty hard on the coast and in the SOJD. We found a deer that had probably been gutted by a cougar on our beach in the SOJD, that was a trip. We hit up Lake Crescent for some pretty bad @ss cliff jumping. We also did a five mile kayak trip that started at Twin and headed east. We dropped in on some beaches that had fossilized shells. Caught a few ripples in the kayak. We got a fun long board session on Thursday night and Monday morning, just us hooting and hollering. I think I got around 30 waves each session but just knee to chest high. Twin was working ok but not enough to drive over. Points east started firing legit as we pulled out and headed home to PDX.

Three days later, I took my youngest son with me up to Orcas Island for the last 4 days. We spread my mom's ashes on our property. I found a crazy pic on the family photo album of John Morris from Longview TX. His nickname was Sure Shot Billy the man who stopped the mortal career of Jack Dalton- the Terror of East TX. Anyway, I posted that pic on OSP Insta.

Bottom line, extend time on Orcas and in the SOJD make me absolutely sick of the city. Portland is done, all cities are headed towards massive decline eventually.

Hitting the Washougal Race Track on Sunday....that will be insane.

In other end of summer gnar news, and sad gnar news at that, Jessi Combs crashed in the Alvord while trying to break her own landspeed record. Not surfing related, but that zone is rad and I dig watching the crazy crap that goes down on that playa. Driving those rocket cars takes serious oves, so props to JC for what she accomplished in her short life. Ride on, charger. https://www.roadandtrack.com/car-cultur ... ord-crash/

Speaking of playas, hopefully Burning Man is happening and thins out the labor day line up a little bit.

Doubt it. Valley's will go to coast, go to their beach houses, camp in rain, vanlifer's will vanlife, and paddle out waves or no waves. Meanwhile midlifeman may have a mid week window next week. 8)

Wishful thinking on my part. While I'm not above any of that, I'll be working this holiday weekend to improve my chances for midweek mayhem. We'll see...

Labor Day weekend, day one :
1-2 ft. Southwest wind.
Two people on soft-tops at the local, standing in the lineup in waist-deep water.

Labor Day weekend, Day 2.
2-3 ft. wind chop at the local. (The local hates south winds)
Lineup empty. A few driving on beach, no driving on beach law be damned.

Bonus report from “Cove”
Couldn’t tell ya’. No place to park.
