Muy bien SG. Reminds me I need to get a couple of those nose guard thingys. The last 2 boards I've bought have extremely pointy tips.

Made it back over Fri after work, but passed on the small bumpy conditions. Was pretty beat from surf and work as well. Did spy one pocket of glasseyness and a potential punchy peak on the way down, but beach takes a little bit of work get to despite being visible from an overlook.

Felt like summer was breathing it's last breaths on Sat. Sunny warm and crazy warm water. No way I could of worn a hood despite doctors orders or boots and was warm in 4 mill having to flush it periodically. Surfed a couple fun ones with an old OSPer, 48degrees. Morning glass, fast, and punchy as the tide was sucking to low with some corners here and there, but not a super productive session for myself.

Had lunch and looked around town for another bar in slaps sans t shirt. Sun felt so good on my back. Wind was just starting to puff lightly and new swell was filling in a bit. Jumped out at a dependable bar for what I thought might be a quick one. At 1st there were some fun lefts with roll ins and carveable walls into an inside section that would with either go or detonate. Then started getting some very fun rights that allowed for 2 or 3 good turns. Wind never got worse and ended up surfing for 2 more hours the last hans solo. Was totally noodled afterwards and on the drive back home and even caught some of the air show passing through. Fun day.

Now we'll see if Fall brings some sun, east winds, and fun swell. I sure hope so after this wet yet wave rich Sept.

Hit the road with ex-OSPer Nasty to visit another ex-OSPer Pragression. Fri morning was a real nice uncrowded time at a peaky beach break. A little tricky at first, to find the corners but as the tide dropped it was on. Milk glass and easy entry into shapely and sometimes thumpy waves. Saw a couple of tubes but none for me, at least no exits. Fri arvo, back for more but this spot didn't like the full tide, so despite being mellower and mushier the shoulders were harder to find. but if you did, fun was to be had. Sat morn, was a lot more crowded and after some hunting-seeking- found a peak south of the pack that delivered. Prag and I exchanged some of the best shortboard waves, I've had in a few... We surfed ourselves silly for hours. Prag was on an LB and regretted it but took full advantage of early entry and took his beatings with a smile. Nasty left the water early unfortunately. I took a hammering on some tube attempts and a weird heaving back hand double up that the warm water made me commit to... And thus my mangina got sandy. Surfed until it stopped being perfect and then chilled in the sun. Nasty then had his heart set on some spots south. I was too blissed-out to argue... Nice sight-seeing and recon, I drank beer while Nasty drove, but Sunday was fruitless. Not complaining. Skate injuries mostly feeling better and knee held up. Now, i've got to check my 6'2" for damage... fingers crossed... as I def hit it a few times in failed tube attempts...

A flare up in the low back has me biding time in the injured reserve once again, but managed a few sessions over the weekend anyway. With expectations tempered, took a chance on a psych out sandbar just for the fugue of it. I don't remember all the details, but a rollicking, hollow left rings a bell. Came to that afternoon at a surf shop buying fancy ear plugs and decided on a follow up session to give them a test run. Waves were fluffy and wind picking up, but whatever. Joined a line up as diverse as any I've encountered in Oregon, but united nonetheless by a fancy for soft tops and noncommittal approach to catching waves. Odd man out on both accounts, I revved the stoke real quick picking off a few decent runners until onshore blew out most available options. Paddled around a few more hours, scratching for peaks and digging up a few cheap thrills. The earplugs helped tune out distracting conversations, so worth the money right there. Still somewhat of a strange sensation to adjust to, but given my myriad pains, aches, and pops, will hopefully help avoid one more discomfort down the road.

Sounds like Nasty’s global climate strike…… typically don’t leave waves to find waves, but I guess when you have a hall pass and you have your mind set on something.

Howly I’ve tried most of the surfshop ear plugs and have defaulted to Macs. Either silicone or the trees. Once you get used to them, they are fine and cheap too.

Looks like its pumping out there! Hoping to score on the back end of this one. Still haven't finned up my HPSB steeper.

Planned family trip to one of the wife and I's old stomping grounds. Surfed a few sessions passing through Box's zone Fri and Sun. Fri was lumpy and bumpy, but the wind was still chill mid am. Didn't look to good, but jumped out south of the bridge hans solos. Couple heads up by the jeti. Typical HT at this local. Drops that just didn't roll into the inside even with a good wrap back into the pocket. Was basically shark bait out there, so called it. That pic of Bobbly in the lot is forever etched into my head.

When I got in, kids were suited and booted ready to surf, but figured we'd back track slightly to a more use friendly local. After a short ride all suited  only one guy out and no one on the beach. Kids had a blast surfing some HT reforms in the cove, sun was out, and weather was fine 8) Around low tide walked back up to our rig to grab something and admired how glassy it was. Waves looked OK down the beach. Grabbed the Dad Ripper and was out dere. Somewhat walled per usual, but some right corners with an opp for a good turn and weird reverb lefts. It was so glassy, water was clear and green, and very relaxing with just 3 other surfers. Then the wind picked up and as we were rolling out a squall came in and rained like a mofo all night.

Sat woke up to clearing skies and howling offshores out of the river canyon. Checked some unique yet fickle local spots that can offer up legit waves where I've had some of my top OR seshies. Swell was pretty big and with the 10 second period was pretty lumped and all over the place. Was not really focusing on the spot that can hold, so passed and enjoyed a superb hippy breakfast in town and spent the day with the fam in the park hiking and mushrooming. My old spots were very productive and grabbed a bucket full of cantrells and lobsters. With all the early rain this year they were popping like it was mid October.

Sun felt like Fall. Air was the coldest I've felt at sunrise and offshores were nuking out of the canyon. After a clear sunrise, rain moved in and thought it might be a wet and grey day. But it cleared and turned into a beaut of a day. Did my due diligence and checked the locals, but no hay nada. Packed up, checked out, and headed back to where we started. Tide was in its last push to high, but had enough size to break though it. Looked solid OH on the sets so finned up my steepish HPSB for the 1st time in 6 or so months. Conditions were butter, but a bit of a rat pack and really only one zone that was inconstantly consistent. Big roll ins to slowish slopey walls. Prob coulda been on the 5'11" despite the size, might of been more skatey, but nice to get the feet in the wax of the 6'3". As the wind started to change the tide got lower, the crowd lessened, and more waves to choose from. Some barrels were opening up and found some chandeliering slotage on a long running right. Surfed until my arms were toast and the wind kinda killed the party. Thank you September.

Super fun day in the water yesterday. Went to Indian Beach with all the tourists and beginner lessons. Took a few on the head in the middle of the beach to test my wits, get my sea legs and prove that my dad bod still doesn't get up quick enough for close out beach breaks. Then moved over to the north end near the rocks for some inconsistent but fun bowling rights. Not many in the water. Their mistake. Sun was out, water was clean and felt warm and trees in Ecola park were GREEN. Felt like a peak PNW surfing day.

I caught a few during the dropping tide on the north coast in the late afternoon. Spent was already in the water for his second
session after rolling north from brohampton. It was just ok, not really enough water for the swell and most waves were
closing out, but given the window I had it seemed like a decent option. I think I had more fun brainstorming a photo shoot
for Dr. Bob riding an arab charger on the beach with a surfboard under his arm.

Got four days of fun surf and great fall weather up in NW WA. Did some camping at various beaches and surfed pin tails, swallow tails, diamond tails and even a long board. My best session was on Sunday on the South end of Hobuck beach. Nice sandbar turned on and my 6'5 was letting me get slotted early into some wrapping walls. The board is a quad and it was dialed up real nice. Biggest disappointment was driving back through to PA and talking to a guy that camped out in the SOJD and got "PERFECT SPOT X" with four other dudes. Perfect spot X was probably better than Hobuck and less crowded. Needless to say, WA is a massive guessing game....not always going to dial up every spot just right. My sunday sesh was best of the year for me. Nice way to close out the month.

Sounds like you were in the same line up as Slimvest on Monday.

PC was pretty damn fun, Sat-Sun. Solid swell but with the steep NW angle it was focusing mostly on Chambers. Despite the crowd and close-outs there were some corners to be found and few that connected through real nice. Took out my 6'10" to weazle my way through the crowd and against the offshores. Sun night met up with Smith G. Pretty decent when I first paddled out and got a few that connected and allowed for a few turns. Saw Smith G throw some solid spray on his first one and I though we were in for session but the dropping tide got so low it just became hollow, dumpy no-hopers. Mon morn back on the LB at the cove. Not so crowded but a weird crowd. As the tide pushed in, a nice peak opened up further North that were just fine on a borrowed log.
