Nice report, Major!

Got out yesterday early AM for about an hour before work. Nothing glorious, but had a decent and fun day on the water. Still have a lot of work to do, but I'm starting to get back into my stride again so that feels good. Stoke remains high.

Had plans to surf yest. Winds looked problematic and swell might of been a little to much for some of the randos I've had luck with recently. Apparently weekday parking has been an issue at one popular spot I've had some fun ones at as well, so opted for opening day and legal parking. Got an early start and was super quiet. Unfortunately had that characteristic wonk to it. Tricky and weird. Water was as cold as it gets. Shoulda had 7 mill boots on. Got a few clicks here and there, but nothing special. Paddled around for at least 2 hours and better than the gym, oh wait what gym. Lot was almost filled when I left but not as crazy as I would of thought. Seemed like an average pre Summer Friday.

Took my youngest out on Friday morning down to Otter and we met up with my buddy who lives in Corvallis. My 8th grader asked for a wetsuit for his graduation....Cleanline hooked us up with a Ripcurl 5/4 hoody for $250 (Memorial Day Sale) but guess what...he forgot to pack it in the car...lol! We had to rent him a suit at Ossies...he will never repeat that mistake again.

Zero expectations in terms of conditions- which was good cause it was crap. But, the kid made it outside and he learned all about rips and how to use them.

Nice drive home, always better to have a road partner!

Nice, Tex. I'll be back out in LC on and off starting this weekend for the next two weeks. Kids were pissed because the LC skatepark was still closed last time we were there - Tigard and Newberg are open, assume LC should be by now.

Hoping to get my short boards wet this time.

Anyone been to PC lately? not sure if I'll head that direction but if the nooks and crannies around LC aren't working I'll need to decide on heading north or south.

Found a nice little break from the Juneary weather yesterday that's been on tap. Sun a blazing, warm water, and brought the hoodless 4 mill this time around. Mid day shift change left a peak empty for my buddy and I. Thumpy little HH OH swell, yet a bit wonky. Last few swells have had the spring or OR funk-a-lunk, but there were waves that opened up and went. Took some hits tryin to find those thou and shoulda packed the 6'3" for extra paddle power and early roll ins for the mid life man  Splashed again for the eve seshwon. More of the same sans sun and a bit of a rat pack on it. Racked up enough to be happy between the 2 sessions, some longinsh runners that allowed for gutbacks and some dumpy drops to backside hackage. Getting the post shelter in place quarantine wave count up and stoked theres been 6' swells on tap. 8)

Hit the lot at the Secret Spot as dawn patrol was packing up. Was a little nervous driving over the hill with all the rain, but now know the weather can be completely different on the other side. Spent an hour hunting around and finally got a nice sketchy late take off and bounced of the wall a couple times. Like major said, things were a bit jumbled, but there was decent size. As the tide dropped and the crowd started arriving, found a little peak with a small crowd. Got a couple more then went in. Water was cold and a sizable crowd. My arms were dead but satisfied. Not bad for the first time back in a year.

*an ode to doc but with less wit, no ellipses, and worse surfing if in fact I actually surfed.

Had a few more Friday. Capped off a 2 day 4 sesh "Working from coast" with a sunny glassy one after logging off for the weekend. Switched SB out for the quad fish and surfed my best session of 2 day run. Board just cruises and goes so nice on a rail with all that speed. Was smoked on Sat. Laid around with my kids and had a nice lazy rainy day feeling surfed out. Silver lining to this wet Juneuary has been fun consistent swell. Sunny HP Junes equal windy small crap. My garden is kinda hating it thou.

Finally got some surf in on Friday after three months off. Not that I really missed it or anything. Skating
has more than supplanted my desire for surfing and I don't need to pack my shite and drive a car every
time I feel the need to do it.
I happened to roll up on Spent's bumper heading south on 101 and pulled in to a busier than expected
lot. Did the walk and talk and was greeted to clean, dropping tide waves with the crowd packed in to the
north end. We opted a bit south to a peak that wasn't mobbed. Picked off some fun lefts that lined up
and a few rights that were short lived. Meandered north as the tide continued to drop and settled in to
the rotation for rights with a handful of others. Swell had lost it's kick by then and the crowd evaporated
but there were still some nice bumps rolling through on occasion.
Decent session for being away for so long. Can't really say I'm frothing for more but I'll most likely try
to go surf again sometime.

Awe bruh. Come on..... I know your frothing deep down. Fresh new GX custom, 6' foot swells on tap, warmish water, cheap gas, and pretty much zero traffic. Maybe you surfed wrong spot? Been some head dippage and cover ups out dere. Good to hear you've been rolling, but cant get barrels skateboarding. Covid seshwons have been kinda ledgy.

I have flex time to use before this week ends. I could probably get the GF to let me ditch to the coast late Friday afternoon. Weather says 86. But the crowds...I fear the crowds...

Edit: Work just gave us Friday off. Looks like I'll see everyone bright and early in the lot.
