OSP is BACK

Postby Tex » Thu Apr 29, 2021 1:21 pm

Wow, that was super weird, stoked that Gorge got the site back up and running. I got my first vaccine shot on Wednesday. That was fairly non eventful. Was going to pull the trigger on a surf session two Sat's ago but I was too tired from pickleball and MMA. Anyway, I missed ya'll....

Did you pull a Jimmy Stewart, Tex? Talking filibuster at GP, until the Reuters said fine, we'll throw down $20 of our hard earned Covid cash to renew the domain registration

Brah I thought I lost 16 years of surf reports! Started looking for a "surf journal" app of which I found a few cool ones that pull in stats as well. Need to figure out how to grab those old reports before this ole rusty ship sinks for good.

Yeah, I admit I got into full on panic mode....for the record, contact info below:

No more social networking for me except Linked In so the number and email above will be best to get ahold of me when the apocalypse hits. IF the OSP ever goes down, I would advocate we try and build a new forum....just sayin.

What happened?
I noticed it was down awhile back. I tried to reach the powers that be but wasn't able to.
Fixed itself. Sweet.

Right. My gas powered weed wacker recently did the same thing. Gotta love it.

I did send an email over to the owners maybe that had something to do with it.

About to buy an electric weed wacker this weekend by the way.

This forum is about to become necessary in a way that it never was.

Vaccine passports not required for Baja quick mish. Yet.

Surfers are not nice.

Surfing can lead to enlightenment but this is a recent development. Major hurdles and frustrations have to be overcome.

Going feral in Indo never meant shit.

Disagree. Modern surfing is the worst version of samsara. An exercise of naval gazing and brash consumerism disguised as good vibes and carefree lifestyle. As cutthroat an industry as any-- perhaps even more so, given a market by and large too clueless to even consider the possibility we're getting hustled. Toxic to the environment and to relationships. Of no use to the common good. We claim to be better people for it and maybe we are for an hour or two, but then we're off again to chase the dragon, sizing up everyone else who shares our common interest, scowling amidst the natural respite we seek. I don't buy what Gerry's selling (softboards now), but at least Pat Curren is believable. Yes, enlightenment went out the window when Tom Blake put a skeg on it. Maybe Skip can save our soul, but liberation from the wheel of attachment, desire, and suffering? That ain't happening.

I love to surf and dislike what it's done to me as a person, but a life of impassioned contradiction is better than toiling on the rock. Better go surf to take the edge off.
