Interesting. Eastern Washington surf scene is blowing up  This just opened opend:

https://www.theinertia.com/surf/check-out-the-rippable-section-on-this-giant-new-citywave-in-lake-chelan-washington/

My buddy from Bend an avid river surfer, river board basement shaper, and local fixture at the wave there got invited to be one of the first groups to surf it. Seen some of his footy. Also I guess some of the Santa Cruz guys went as well. Standing wave, looks tricky, would maybe check it out.

This may be the final straw that sends Tex back to his native Warshington.

I MEAN....I'll def check it. I was prowling on FB- killed my account 10 years ago but it said it took them 5 years to find that location. Shiiiiiit. Honestly, I want to build one and I am a little jealous. We will see if it gets passed and they can get it built. We should all road trip up there and hit it.

Eastern Washington is beautiful and still untapped IMO. Like several people I know, who went remote with their jobs, an old coworker of mine bailed out of PDX and moved to Wenatchee. He's lovin it. Said its cheap and a cool little zone with great recreational activities. I really need to explore that zone more.

Good luck permitting anything or trying to operate a wave pool anywhere in the City of Portland. Politics, taxes, money grabs, and overall BDS BS would make it nearly impossible. If there was a wave pool to pop in Oregon, my guess would be somewhere in Central Oregon. Maybe Yamhill County if you wanted to tap a Portland metro market? I've worked on tons of landuse and environmental permitting projects over the last 2 decades. Not my gig anymore, but would of been interesting to work on a wave pool site.

That is the best name for a surf park in Eastern WA. I love it...

Just like the PNW skateparks rolled out, a little to late for my old @ss, so will the wave pools.
