Well at least all six remaining OSPers can say they were surfing Oregon long before COSUBE, Leeward and whatever the F*ck else was going on for awhile, and are still surfing... perhaps there is hope for decay after all...

I've had less than five pints at Up North...

I cant imagine being able to successfully run any sort of service oriented business in this town over the last few years especially near the downtown core. As for the The Sube, I bet they will be back in some from or another and woke as ever.

i probably exaggerated my reaction but none of my encounters with him would have ever made me think he would have shown up at the riot.

Things are more or less equal in the water...
Not so much in the lot though...
So, same as always.

spot on. the scene is bigger, it's definitely more accessible, and I cringe when i pull into a lot and have to squeeze in between a 20 unit mobile apartment complex. but, i'd rather be in the water with 10 newbies that are happy to be there than 2 scowling 'locals' trying to establish their ground by bitching about this, that or the other thing. once you turn and go, it still feels as good as it ever did

What if once you turn and go some newbie is directly in your line on the wave of the day during a 2 hour tide window you just drove almost 2 hours to catch??? Jus saying. Still properly better than a frothing pack of SoCal or Santa Cruz groms thou.

yeah, fair point. one time, i surfed with a guy that was talking to himself and yelling crazy stuff randomly at nothing in particular. people gave him a wide berth and he got TONS of waves at a super crowded and fairly localized spot. i always wondered if it was a tactic. i never had the guts to try it out, but have thought about it often.
