Did anyone see the news story about the cougar shacking up on Haystack Rock over the weekend? KGW had the story if anyone is interested.

Imagine paddling out, glancing over and seeing a cougar on patrol in the tide pools.

One of my CB pals said the fire dept. spotted a shark out there same day.

Been a few shark sightings there already in last few months. Don't recommend surfing there. Shorties is totally safe, go straight there. Speaking of.... anybody catch the fist fight on the south end Sat? Tex that your son giving out MMA beat downs? Seems lack of swell, and tons of snaking when a set does come, on top swelling summa crowds is getting people angry.

What the hell? Fist fight at SS? I guess not surprised....weekend crowds there are stoooopid. My oldest is the MMA guy, turns out not really into beaches. The youngest dabbles in jits could submit someone if the stars aligned. I cannot tell you how many dudes I have had to yell off the south end peak as I am in priority position....they push until last minute making sure you actually stick the drop lol.

I have truly heard that from a couple guys who've been around for a bit who are bored with the with usual waves at the usual spots and feed up with crowds. Perhaps a new era for them. Begin Times?

Similar to some other species like black bear, and white sharks off Cape Cod, populations seem to be on the rise. Perhaps not all the doom and gloom the media hype makes it out to be.
