I was a 2nd grader obsessed with surfing.
Mom quit taking us to the beach park in Niu Valley cause I'd spend all my time sitting on the table watching the surfers at Toes....
Dad brought home a psychedellic single fin gun for me one day and that was it.

None of those schools or breaks sound familiar. Where I grew up, the equivalent would have been St. Patricks, Aina Haina elementry and Niu Valley Middle school. The major breaks were Portlock & China Wall.

However, we've probably surfed together here and not known it.

BLACK FLAG?!?!?

I haven't heard that song in almost 20 years........
Those were the days. Black Boots, Spiked Hair and Rhodesian Army Camos. Moshing as Black Flag played at a the Satyricon. God I thought I was cool. But I was already a surfer by that point.
