not bitching at all, quite the contrary. it was terrible out there in the water, it was more or less a play on myself for being a degenerate dick dragger and not having sense enough to pack it in and head for the local tavern.

fwiw, that tavern has shuffleboard. need I say anymore?

I remember having breakfast one morning summer of '80 or so with Abner, Rick and a guy named Jim who was captain of one of those Coast Guard surf rescue boats at Westport as I recall.
I had fried clams with eggs, toast, hash-browns and three cups of coffee.
Then we went surfing at the jetty.
It was crowded because there was someone else there .........making five of us altogether.

I have never been dismayed by clams.
I find it funny that the Betty got upset because Spongie was dismayed by clams.

I was "dismayed" that he is a sponger, for 1, and then this just blew me away

I thought for a second that all hell was breaking loose in the water, but to my dismay it was the start of clam digging season!

It seems to me that spongey is upset that there is no one to fight for waves. And if this is the case, I have to ask myself "why is there no one to fight for waves?" Could it be because it sucked that day? Hmmm....
