Westport today (10/06)

Postby spongy » Fri Oct 06, 2006 10:44 pm

So, today I ventured over to westhaven after getting in some solid shore pound and was greeted by a packed parking lot. I thought for a second that all hell was breaking loose in the water, but to my dismay it was the start of clam digging season! There were literally 200 people on that beach and not one human being in the water. So, my question is who is the bigger kook?

Me- for being the only person in the water, on a sponge none the less.

Clamers- self-explanatory.

I had a big long speach prepared but really all I need to say is summed up by simply telling you to f*ck off.

oh c'mon. where does this hostility stem from?

what can't you get over about the "dismay" jargon?

I think that dismay is an awesome word, it was the word of the day yesterday.

Spongy, you need to learn 'bettyism'. She's practically flirting with you here.

I rolled into the cove at about 12:30 with a tall can of MGD and found that I had no time for that because it was firing like a madman out there. Some good OH lefts with decent length. There were about 15 surfers out there, which was weird for a weekday. The tide changed made the waves go to hell real quick, so I finished my beer and headed for westhaven.

The above story occured in my OP and the waves were terrible. I should have just left after the cove session, but I felt obligated to "get my monies worth" with the time spent driving out and the gas. I was in the water for about 3 hours there and caught NOT ONE decent wave, it was wind blown, mush chop from hell. The current was working something wicked, it almost swept me off my feet walking out the first time. Hopefully, tomorrow will produce a longer sesh.

damnit!!!

Didn't think about that. I guess even tug boat waves in the Puget Sound would be overhead for me.
