saw Z-Land this weekend at the Baghdad. Burgers arrived just as a woman flew through the windshield and her head smacked the pavement.

went to a showing of "Badlands" at the local grange.

very well made for a first movie, disturbing but done in good taste...martin sheen, sissy spacek in 1972...excellent acting and superb directing/filmaking in general, nice to see it on a larger screen with the neighbors.

just got "Deliverance" from netflix....:)

watched Deer Hunter last night and Deliverance (on blu ray) the night before.
had never seen deer hunter in full and i'll say this:
great acting, filmaking, story, dialogue, and all but overall, not such a great movie.
I enjoyed the individual elements of the movie way more than the whole thing.

deliverance i had also never seen in full and never saw the squeal like a pig scene at all....
that was a really good movie but my friend who had seen it many times before finds the whole movie funny now.

Was flipping around digital TV on New Years Day before the game and surprisingly came upon a surf video. When I checked the channel it was JC TV and once we saw the Hobgoods it all made sense. Any way’s it profiled the Christen Hatters guys like Noah Snyder and damn there were so many sick waves and good footage from OBX. And we happened to be drinking some Jesus juice too! I was really surprised though. I sortta forgot how sick those beahies are and can’t remember the last time I got barreled at an Oregon beachbreak. I need to get back there soon for a trip. We turned it off though once they laid into the Christian stuff, we know it was coming sooner than later.

DTV is pretty decent. There is some good music on 16.4 (think that’s the #) a local PDX thing I think. They had the Bad Brains live from the CBGB back in the day a night or so later. Only bummer is the KGW weather channel that used to steam all the cams is gone now, replaced by a Latin version of KGW. Bummed on that. Used to love watching the PC cam stream on my HD.

I stand corrected, the live cams are no mas. I recently saw Avatar...visually amazing, good if somewhat cliched story.

Mine sucks.
I purchased the converter box a month or so before the switch over.
Used to get all the digital channels. Now I get maybe 4 or them. No 8, no 10 no 12. Can't get any signal. I purchased the best in-house antenna I could find and still nothing after re-scanning. Plus anytime something digital like a cell phone or plane flying above interferes you get all glitchy and some really annoying loud sounds. Happens more often then not.
So, I never watch tv.

screw regular tv...a 15 dollar a month account with netflix is plenty.

i have been watching "Breaking Bad" on dvd lately, its a tv show, from amc i think.
this show is really good, puts Weeds to shame, much more serious, funny, smart and dark.

acting is good, visually exciting, and has a really intelligent, slick feel to it.
covers some very interesting themes and ideas well.
great backdrop...think cancer, family life, and meth production.
so far i have made it almost through season 2...its hard to watch 1 episode at a time
its also gory at times, so, not for those with a weak stomach, or the young and impressionable
