With intent?

"Split Second" by David Baldacci It's kind of a modern day spy novel strong female lead..

I read Baldacci's Christmas Train a few years ago (the recommendation of my sis). Easy reading............burned through it in a day. Are his subsequent writings along the same format?

I sure think so, I read it on the bus on my way back from work, the chapters are like a 2 to 3 pages and they go fast..

the universe in a single atom by the dali lama --- a good argument for how buddism and science can have profitable dialoges

also read pamona queen by kem nunn - he also wrote dogs of winter...this one has nothing to do with surfing, but is great film noir style thriller....

now working on never cry wolf as well

also thought that 100 years of solitude was an amazing book

Good call on Kem Nunn.. I have all of his books and actually went to a book signing of his once. Pamona Queen was pretty coo with all of the history of the valley mixed in. Have you read Tapping the Source, or his most recent, Tijuana Straits? Both are excellent reads. They get a little over the top but thats what makes them entertaining.

I am with Stiffy...I find the shampoo bottle to be....stimulating.

I've got a few going at the moment....

"Hawaii: Islands Under the Influence" by Noel J. Kent. A slow read with
a detailed history of the the islands. Not something to bring a smile to your
face. In fact, it is a most enraging read yet sheds considerable light on how
the islands have come to where they are today. Love social studies? into
fascism? exploitation tickles your fancy?...read it.

"Sellevision" by Augusten Burroughs. Just starting this one. I loved his first
two memoirs and this one is a work of fiction. Great sense of humor and engaging writing style. Simply put, Fun!

100 Years of Solitude is Ricky Martin’s favorite book. I don’t know why I know that.

I finished The River Why a couple of months ago and am now reading The Brothers K, both by David James Duncan, a local author. The River Why is set in coastal Oregon and is centered on fly fishing and the search for happiness and meaning. I don’t care much for fishing, but the book is the best one I have read in years.
