Maui is overrated. Crappy surf, too many sh1tty people, and all the sick spots were destroyed 10 years ago. It's Oahu without the good stuff.

Kauai is the call for sure!

ive been there, but only for a short time 6 years ago in spring, but gotta say it was pleasant. the best day of surf was a chest high day with only 5 people out at a classic right point, so there is hope! definitely one of the coolest beach scenarios. never ran into any attitude except for a southside beach closure due to a sighting and a week before arrival a long time resident had a fatal encounter out around s turns. did however run into a local out of ocean shores while at that classic point. small world. never thought of maui being overrated, but good to hear your insight.

Well I'm situated on the east side. It's windy but with periods of calmness. Surfed poipu this morning and it was pretty damn good. Also found a little reef break right outside my hotel that is loads of fun with nobody on it! Back of my legs are burned and my nipples are bleeding. Stoked.

Hey I will say we got here Monday night and I didn't surf until Friday so ya know we had a couple days for non-surfing adventures like kayaking, hiking, waterfalls some really amazing stuff. Now I'm kinda bummed forecast says island flat until mid-month! I should be able t find some waist high waves tho.
