Big Island in Sept.

Postby engiNERD » Sun Apr 10, 2011 6:20 pm

I'm crossing my fingers for a bit of surf on the Big Island in September. I didn't have much say as far as location/time of year, but I'm not complaining!

I'll be down there for about 2 weeks, so I plan on dragging a board down and renting a car. Can anyone provide tips or advice on what spots or areas will be best? I'll be based out of an area not too far from the airport - just looking for some fun waves. Up here in OR/WA I'm on a 6'0 most of the time...will I be okay with that down there or should I consider something else? Thanks in advance...

I imagine you are talking about the airport just North of Kailua-Kona. There are two airports on the island, one in Kona and one in Hilo. It is a BIG island...

Ah yeah, over by the Kailua-Kona airport. Forgot Hilo had one too.
