Here is how we should support the troops:
Support a way to bring them home so Iraq can handle its own civil war.
With our troops home they can safely rest and be in a position of strength to help us here at home.
I am lucky that the coastal property that I own has an access road that I could not afford to build these days, but it was developed during World War II to support one of the very many coastal airstrips and shore batteries (now defunct and eroded away). Supporting the troops means supporting their return to a position of strength here on the mainland to DEFEND. I could not dream of allowing my son to be drafted in some future military to serve in some neo-conservative's view of spreading capitalism around the world. I could, however, imagine myself or my son and daughter defending our coastlines here at home. Do you ever look overhead at those Coast Guard helicopters patrolling the beach areas? I totally support those folks! I actually totally support all the poor service people who return with post traumatic stress disorder from their time in Iraq. I support them as individuals over there now, as returning vets, and I support their families.
Neo-Cons: put your troop support with the troops and the disrupted families of the troops, not with the blind obedience to a president whose questionable election was in such a cloud that people around the world have lost respect for the Democratic process that we in our Democracy are supposed to exemplify.

And getting back to that plop in the honey bucket, I have a problem with that, too. Digging my own one-time-use hole in the soil for these needs avoids that plop.
And I don't know if this is a Bitch and Moan comment, or a Stoke comment, but speaking of defecation, I have a 19 year old cat that seems to be totally stoked every time she goes outside to scratch a hole in the sand outdoors and fill it with her poop instead of using the indoor kitty litter.

And wars and military incursions implemented by democratic regimes are somehow awesome?

Having to pay for a fuggin new passport to return to my home country if I wanted to do so despite the fact that my current passport does not expire until the year 2013, or so it says. Mr Bush, you pay for it to be this damn Biometric thing, jerk.
Why the hell should I have to pay to upgrade my passport if I needed to return to the USA? Meanwhile I can travel throughout Europe with just my driving (which doesnt expire until 2044....) with no problems at all.

When I paddle out forever, paddle for and not make a wave. Followed by a set rolling me to shore only to paddle forever back to where I was when another set rolls me again. All before even catching one ride. I hate short period swell. I'm over it now but it really pissed me off at the time.

What pisses me off? People like FP who trust the enemies more than the troops. People who assume that I'm all for the war and incursions (riverjetty). People who think we can just pull out of Iraq and we will be better off than trying to fix a huge problem we shouldn't have made. People like Gore who cry the sky is falling yet don't change much in their personal lives, hypocrites.

Gore Shmore.
Bush -- MU TUSH!
I think a few folks (remember - support the troops?) would still be alive if Gore was the man in the White House.

What pisses me off? People who make huge presumptions based on very little information. When did I say I don't support the troops? My contention was with unconditional unquestioning support...
I do agree with you about Gore though.

when you steal a bicycle from a little kid and they try to fight back so you be forced to clock them in face in order make the theft work out all right then when you get it you see that the mom saw it and she comes running to take care of the bloody child and you have to try to high speed take off on the bike you just stole even though its like clown small for you. respect.
